Frequently Asked Questions
FAQS
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
That is exactly why I offer a complimentary meet & greet. My focus is on making sure we are the right fit for each other. This brief video call gives you a chance to ask questions, share your goals, and get a feel for how I work - no pressure, no commitment.
Do you offer in-person or online therapy?
I provide secure online sessions throughout the Netherlands. In-person sessions are available in Eindhoven by request. Some clients choose to start in-person and later switch to online, while others prefer one modality the entire time. We will talk through what works best for you.
How long is a session, and how often will we meet?
The structure of therapy depends on the type of support we agreed would best fit your needs:
Therapy Intensives are 75–90 minutes per session for six consecutive weeks, designed to help you move through a specific challenge with focused momentum.
Ongoing individual therapy is typically 45–50 minutes, once per week. We choose a consistent weekly time that works for both of us. While life happens — holidays, travel, unexpected shifts - we aim to keep a steady pace.
I work best with high-functioning adults who are ready to invest in their growth and healing. If you are navigating a life transition, seeking clarity, or want to shift something that no longer works for you - this is a good fit.
However, I do not work with clients experiencing severe mental illness, personality disorders, or conditions requiring psychiatric medication as the primary treatment. These cases often require a higher level of care than I provide in my private practice.
What can I expect in the first session?
Our first session is a comprehensive intake, where we explore your current concerns, your background, and what goals you are hoping to work toward. I take a biopsychosocial approach, so I will ask questions about your mental, physical, and social well-being. You will also complete pre-appointment forms to help us tailor your care. By the end of the session, we will begin shaping a therapy plan aligned with your needs.
What is your cancellation policy?
Life happens - and I honor that. Sometimes unexpected plans or illness require a pause. I simply ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. Please email with alternate time option(s) for the same week so we can stay in rhythm. If it is a last-minute emergency, feel free to WhatsApp me directly.
Therapy works best when we both show up with care — and that includes protecting the space we’ve committed to.
How do you maintain confidentiality?
Confidentiality is absolutely & completely a priority in any medical or mental health treatment. I follow all required privacy and data regulations under Dutch law and NIP standards. Records are securely stored, and I do not share identifying information without your consent. If we happen to cross paths in public, you get to decide how (or if) you want to acknowledge me. This is your privacy space, always.
What are your fees, and do you accept insurance?
I operate as a private-pay practice. That means no referral is needed to get started, and we can focus immediately on your goals - without delays, system constraints, or labels that do not serve you.
If you plan to seek reimbursement, your insurer may request a GP referral and a diagnosis. My invoices include KVK, AGB, and VAT numbers, which may be eligible for partial reimbursement through supplemental insurance (aanvullende verzekering). Just keep in mind: going through your GP or insurance may require diagnostic documentation and could affect the privacy of your records.
Choosing to pay privately gives you full control - of your pace, your process, and your personal information. And for many of my clients, that freedom is part of the healing itself.
If you are ready to invest in yourself now, you do not need to wait for approval.
